Starting in English, 2.0 Flash Thinking (experimental) now works with your favourite Gemini features and connected apps such as YouTube, Maps, Search and more. Gemini Advanced users will also have access to a 1M token context window with this model.
Why: We're investing in thinking and reasoning capabilities because we believe they unlock deeper intelligence and deliver enhanced performance for tasks requiring complex reasoning, such as coding, scientific discovery and advanced maths.

Why: By powering Deep Research with this upgraded model, and expanding its availability, Deep Research is taking one step forward in Google's mission to organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful.
Gemini gets personal, with tailored help based on your Search history
What: Starting today, Gemini can now use your Search history to give you even more helpful and personalised responses. When you select 'Personalisation (experimental)' from the model drop-down, Gemini will analyse your prompt and see if your past searches can make the answer better. This means you get answers that are more relevant to you, saving you time and effort. Users have told us this is really helpful for brainstorming, getting recommendations and quickly finding things you've searched for before. We're launching Gemini with personalisation as an experimental feature, available on the web today and gradually rolling out on mobile. It's available in over 40 languages and in the majority of countries around the world. The experience is not yet available to Google Workspace or Education users. Future usage limits may apply.
You're in control: Built with privacy and control in mind, your data is safe, secure and controlled by you. When you choose Gemini with personalisation, you'll be asked to grant permission for it to access your Search history. This is entirely optional: you can choose to opt in or out. You can also revoke access to your Search history at any time through a banner link provided before entering your prompt. You can view and manage your Search history at any time.
Why: We envision an AI assistant that truly understands you – your interests, your hobbies, your unique context – to deliver an experience that's tailored to you. Now, with an understanding of your past searches, Gemini doesn't just give you answers; it evolves with you, sparking new ideas effortlessly and building on previous discoveries with personalised insights.

Gemini with 2.0 Flash Thinking (experimental) is now even better at completing complex tasks with access to more apps

Flash Thinking can now connect to more of your apps like Calendar, Notes, Tasks, Google Photos, YouTube and Google Maps. You can ask Gemini to do things like search for YouTube tutorials on how to cook a specific cuisine for the first time, save the ingredients to a shopping list and search for supermarkets to run to, all in a single prompt.
Some apps are not yet available to Enterprise and Education users, but will be in the future.
